The implementation of this Public Consultation invites Manufacturers, Test Institutions, Product Certification Bodies, Users, Academics, and the Government who will later be involved in designing product certification schemes. On this occasion, one of the representatives from the National Standardization Agency (BSN) explained the product certification process.

The event began with remarks and opening remarks by Director of DP2IBN Haendra Subekti. Haendra said that DP2IBN under the Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment prepares regulations and carries out coordination for the implementation of nuclear product certification. Haendra continued that later in making the certification scheme, all stakeholders will be involved so that the product certification scheme can be able to be applied to ensure safety and quality, and domestic products have competitiveness.

Then the activity continued with a presentation by the Coordinator of the Non-Reactor Nuclear Installation Function Group Farid Noor Jusuf. Farid explained the legal basis for the establishment of regulations regarding nuclear product certification. Farid said that the regulation regarding nuclear product certification aims to ensure that nuclear products have good standards, increase consumer confidence, guarantee product quality assurance, and which will ultimately support economic growth.

The next presentation was from the representative of the National Standardization Agency (BSN) Dewi Komalasari from the Directorate of Infrastructure Standard Development, Conformity Assessment, Personal, and Creative Economy. Dewi explained the meaning of the SNI, the application of SNI, and the process of voluntary and mandatory product certification, and the duties of the function of BSN itself.

Key points in this public consultation include:

• Manufacturers support nuclear product certification plans to increase the competitiveness of domestic products.
• BAPETEN identifies nuclear products that are prioritized for product certification according to the level of product needs and readiness.
• The government up BSN and BAPETEN facilitates the preparation of standards, product certification bodies, test bodies, and inspection bodies as needed.
• Users expect policies and arrangements to require the use of domestic products in nuclear energy activities and facilities
