The event was opened by Plt. Chairman of BAPETEN Sugeng Sumbarjo, he said "Perppu No. 2 of 2022, has the same legal force as the Law because it is a substitute for the Law. This Perpu repeals Law No. 11 of 2020 and will soon be enacted into law after obtaining approval from the DPR. In general, there is no significant change."

"BAPETEN improved the integration of OSS licensing and simplified the licensing process and replaced the original permits per source to per agency. In addition, there is an increase in the validity period of the permit which is now 5 years. The permit is issued by BKPM on behalf of the Ministry/Institution. BAPETEN provides technical recommendations and approvals that form the basis for BKPM to issue utilization permits. As of today, changes in references have been made, so that permit or approval documents have undergone changes in references, because the law that was previously a reference is no longer valid." added.

The speech was continued by Assistant Deputy Chairman for Economic Competitiveness Improvement of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Ichsan Zulkarnaen, in his speech conveyed "Appreciation to BAPETEN for the implementation of the socialization for Perppu No. 2 of 2022 concerning Omnibus Law. The background to the issuance of Perppu No. 2 of 2022, which is an urgent need to fill the legal vacuum to deal with uncertainty in global economic conditions that have an impact on inflation, increases in food prices that have been felt by Indonesia. The presence of Perppu strengthens the domestic side to encourage structural transformation to help the community and business owners."

Topics in the discussion session included the licensing system, changes in KTUN, changes in substance in Perppu, permit requirements, deactivation of ionizing radiation sources, and review of PP No. 5 of 2021.
