The discussion delivered by members of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives raised topics such as appreciation for BAPETEN and BIG for implementing suggestions submitted by Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the previous RDP. "We really appreciate BAPETEN for its initiative regarding the revision of the Nuclear Power Law," explained Ratna Juwita Sari, Member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives. More clearly, Sugeng Suparwoto, Chairman of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, stated that nuclear is a renewable energy option, so socialization is very important, especially regarding nuclear power plants. "Currently, public perception of nuclear continues to increase to more than 75 percent. Therefore, it is hoped that BAPETEN must become a source of information, especially in the context of nuclear utilization in the energy sector," he added.

"Thank you for the support and appreciation that certainly continues to encourage our enthusiasm. Regarding the preparation of the revision of the Nuclear Power Law, especially those related to the New Energy and Renewable Energy (EBET) Bill, especially regarding the nuclear power plant supervision system, we propose several things, including a nuclear security scheme, third-party guarantees for nuclear power plant operations, radioactive waste management to be discussed further, and the details will be conveyed in writing," explained Acting Chairman of BAPETEN, Sugeng Sumbarjo.

This RDP resulted in three conclusions, including Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives receiving an explanation of the progress of BAPETEN and BIG activities in 2024 and asking BAPETEN and BIG to accelerate the realization of the implementation of priority programs in 2024. Furthermore, Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives approved the BAPETEN budget ceiling and supported the proposal to increase the BAPETEN and BIG budgets in 2025.
