Forum for Validation and Verification of BAPETEN's 2024 Policy Quality Index Self-Assessment

The Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Cooperation, and Public Communication (BHKK), held a Verification and Validation Forum on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Novotel Cikini Hotel, Jakarta. This activity is a follow-up to the BAPETEN IKK self-assessment that has been discussed since the beginning of Q2-2024 to review the results of the IKK self-assessment that had previously been submitted to the State Administration Institute (LAN) via the page: ikk.lan.go.id.
The Policy Quality Index (IKK) is one of the indicators of the achievement of National Bureaucratic Reform (RB) for the area of changes in the arrangement of laws and regulations/policy deregulation. The purpose of the IKK assessment is to encourage strengthening public participation and good governance principles in the public policy-making process, especially in building evidence-based policies.
The forum was led by the Head of BHKK, Indra Gunawan, and attended by representatives of the verification team from LAN, namely Pardamean Panjaitan, First Expert Policy Analyst Functional Officer, and attended by the BAPETEN 2024 IKK Independent Assessment Team. There are four policy populations selected for assessment, including BAPETEN Regulation (Perba) No. 3 of 2021; Perba 1 of 2022; Perba 4 of 2022; and Perba 5 of 2022.
This meeting recommended several improvements to the IKK independent assessment that had been submitted by BAPETEN through the Si-IKK application, including the technical aspects of filling in supporting evidence on the self-assessment form, the suitability of the answers to the questions submitted, and strategies so that the answers prepared are informative and help the evaluation process of the assessment team from LAN.
