Field Evaluation of Cargo and/or Container Inspection Permit Application Using Ionizing Radiation Sources by PT Jakarta International Container Terminal
Kembali 16 Mei 2024 | Berita BAPETENOn Wednesday, May 16, 2024, in the JICT Area, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) carried out a field evaluation regarding the cargo and/or container inspection permit application using ionizing radiation sources by PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT). The evaluation was carried out through the Directorate of Licensing of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR).
The implementation of the field evaluation was accompanied by employees from PT JICT and local contractors who carried out the installation of this container inspection equipment. The goal of this field evaluation is to verify that the data/documents in the permit application are consistent with actual data collected in the field and, at the same time, measure the radiation exposure emitted by the container inspection equipment to ensure that the design of the ionizing radiation source shield has met the radiation safety aspects.
A summary of the field evaluation's findings based on the technical specifications outlined in BAPETEN Regulation No. 3 of 2021 concerning Business Activity Standards and Product Standards in the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing in the Nuclear Power Sector was submitted to close the evaluation. The resume also states that radiation safety standards were met for the measurements of radiation exposure emitted by container inspection equipment. Furthermore, the resume's presentation communicates the findings of the assessment and the necessary follow-up work that PT JICT needs to do in order to make adjustments to the specifications for the filed permission application.
