PT Rel-ion Sterilization Services is an installation that operates irradiators for the purpose of product sterilization, both for food preservation and sterilization of medical devices and agricultural products.

The field evaluation was opened by Muhammad Dradjat Kurniawan, the field evaluation team leader, who also delivered a presentation regarding the objectives of the activity, preparations that must be made in the implementation of the source loading and unloading process, and commissioning tests. Present at the entry meeting of the field verification activity were Syahrul, as the representative of the leadership of PT Rel-ion Sterilization Services, and related technical staff.

In this activity, the BAPETEN team supervised the work of PT Rel-ion Sterilization Services on the process of lifting/moving containers containing radioactive sources from the container to the reactor pool as well as moving it from the reactor pool, loading and unloading radioactive sources in the irradiator facility, and the commissioning test process. The objective is to ensure the conformity of data on changes in radioactive sources between documents and their real conditions. In addition, the BAPETEN team also ensured that during the implementation process of the activity, the radiation safety of workers and the community could be met.

This field evaluation activity went well and produced several recommendation notes for PT Rel-ion Sterilization Services. On this occasion, the BAPETEN Field Evaluation Team appreciated the readiness and cooperation of PT Rel-ion Sterilization Services in fulfilling the acceptance criteria in terms of radiation safety and security.
