The event was opened by Ishak, Head of the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Cooperation, and Public Communication (BHKK) at BAPETEN, who conveyed the importance of this event for discussing the utilization of nuclear energy in Indonesia. "So, nuclear energy has become a global topic of discussion, and what we are discussing today is extraordinary. At the very least, we can learn about nuclear energy in general, its benefits and risks, and what it has been used for," he said.

Meanwhile, Ridwan Andi Wittiri, a member of Commission XII of the DPR RI, also expressed his expectation for this event. He emphasized that the regulation of nuclear energy utilization must be carried out carefully, transparently, and accountably.

"We are present at this event as a form of collaboration between regulators, legislators, and the public," he added.

The event continued with a presentation by Abdul Qohhar, the Public Communication Functional Group Lead at BAPETEN, on the Regulation of Nuclear Energy Utilization in Indonesia. In his presentation, he explained nuclear energy in general, BAPETEN's role in regulating nuclear energy utilization, and the benefits and risks of nuclear energy.

Abdul Qohhar also encouraged the public to engage in collaborative monitoring with BAPETEN. He urged the public to report any unlicensed nuclear energy facilities to BAPETEN.
