Kembali 16 Desember 2025 | Berita BAPETEN | 16 lihatBAPETEN, through the Directorate of Technical Support and Nuclear Emergency Preparedness (DKKN) and the Education and Training Center (Balai Diklat), organized a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) on the Introduction to Radiation Protection and the Identifinder R-425 device on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the BAPETEN Office. The activity was attended by representatives from shrimp export companies, including PT Wirantono Baru, PT Baramuda Bahari, PT Thamron, and PT Mega Marine. This technical guidance also marked the initial stage of training for Product Scanning Operators, which is planned to be conducted in 2026.
Opening the activity, Kusbandono, as the Activity Manager of the Technical Support Functional Group at DKKN, explained that the need for this program stemmed from the frequent requests submitted to DKKN by various companies for equipment functionality testing, as well as the numerous inquiries and requests for guidance related to radiation, contamination, and procedures for equipment identification. Kusbandono added that in recent days, BAPETEN has also provided assistance in the re release of Indonesian export products to overseas markets, beginning with the export of cloves, followed by shrimp exports. He further emphasized the expectation that all stakeholders remain committed to maintaining quality to ensure that products are consistently safe and hygienic, thereby preventing the rejection of Indonesian export products. One of the measures to maintain product hygiene includes ensuring indicators of freedom from radioactive contamination.
Then Aminuddin Tedjo, in his presentation on Radiation Protection explained key topics including radiation, contamination, the principles of radiation protection, radiation measurement instruments, and radiation protection equipment. Subsequently, Nurman Rahmadi, who delivered the session on the operation of the Identifinder R-425 device, presented the instrument’s features, operating procedures, calibration, and maintenance. Kusbandono also provided instruction on response procedures in the event of contamination in shrimp products, as well as the reporting steps to BAPETEN for further follow up actions.
The activity concluded with a session on functional testing of the equipment owned by each company, during which all participants were given the opportunity to conduct hands-on practice in testing the functionality of their respective instruments using contamination sources prepared by DKKN.
