BAPETEN Strengthens Regulatory Understanding Through Capacity Building on Radiation and Radioactive Materials with Stakeholders
Kembali 09 April 2026 | Berita BAPETEN | 26 lihatBAPETEN conducted a Capacity Building Program on Regulatory Frameworks in the Field of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials with stakeholders on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the BAPETEN Auditorium. The program was held in a hybrid format (in person and virtual) to expand the reach of information dissemination to a wider audience. A total of 55 institutions attended in person from Jakarta, Banten, and Jawa Barat, while 101 institutions participated virtually from various regions across Indonesia, including Sumatera, Jawa, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Maluku Utara.
The program was conducted to disseminate the latest regulations in the nuclear energy sector, particularly on risk-based licensing and radiation safety in the use of gauging equipment. The event began with an activity report delivered by the organizing committee and was officially opened by Soegeng Rahadhy, Coordinator of the Regulatory Function Group for Health, Industry, and Research.
“Radiation safety is a shared responsibility between the regulator and business actors,” he stated. “BAPETEN remains committed to supporting stakeholders not only through regulatory development, but also by strengthening adaptive oversight systems and ensuring comprehensive dissemination of regulations.”
The program continued with opening remarks from Mukhlisin, Director of DP2FRZR, who also served as the moderator for the presentation session. The session featured three presentations: “Policy on the Development of the OSS System Following the Issuance of Government Regulation Number 28 of 2025 on Risk Based Business Licensing Implementation” delivered by Arief Margatama from the Directorate of Business Licensing Systems, Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM; “Government Regulation Number 28 of 2025 on Risk Based Business Licensing Implementation (Gauging Scope) and BAPETEN Regulation Number 5 of 2025 on Business Activity Standards and/or Product/Service Standards in the Implementation of Risk Based Business Licensing in the Nuclear Energy Sector (Gauging Scope)” presented by Vatimah Zahrawati, Senior Radiation Supervisor at BAPETEN; and “BAPETEN Regulation Number 2 of 2025 on Radiation Safety in the Use of Ionizing Radiation Sources for Gauging Equipment” delivered by Sawiyah, Senior Radiation Supervisor at BAPETEN.
Following the presentations, the program concluded with an interactive discussion session. Participants showed strong enthusiasm, as reflected in the wide range of questions, suggestions, and inputs shared.
Through this dissemination program, stakeholders are expected to enhance their understanding of the latest regulations on risk based licensing, while reinforcing the importance of safety as the cornerstone of nuclear energy utilization. Beyond providing information, the program is also expected to encourage readiness and ensure proper implementation across respective facilities. [BHKK/OR/Hafid]
