Deputy Minister of PPN/Deputy Head of Bappenas, Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, received the BAPETEN leadership. In his remarks, Febrian stated that the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas welcomed this coordination to manage the important issue of developing new nuclear energy. "Hopefully, Indonesia's dream of having a nuclear power plant will never fade. Therefore, thorough preparation is needed for the development of its ecosystem, including human resource development," he added.

Furthermore, Acting Chairman of BAPETEN, Sugeng Sumbarjo, presented a presentation on National Development Priority Support and BAPETEN's Thematic Priority Activities, specifically the use of nuclear power for peaceful purposes, specifically electricity generation. The discussion further covered the construction scheme, licensing, and oversight infrastructure for nuclear power plants. The Acting Chairman of BAPETEN was accompanied by the Deputy Chairman for Licensing and Inspection Zainal Arifin, the Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment Haendra Subekti, and other BAPETEN Echelon II officials.

The Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy, expressed his appreciation for the various steps BAPETEN has taken in preparing for the construction of nuclear power plants in Indonesia. "Indonesia has been building reactors since the 1960s, making it a pioneer in the utilization of nuclear power, especially in Asia. We want to continue developing and strengthening security aspects before nuclear power plant construction. I think this is an excellent step," Rachmat explained.

In closing, the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas expressed his expectation for further discussions to realize various developments that the Ministry/Bappenas can undertake in collaboration with BAPETEN.
