BAPETEN Holds Ionizing Radiation Source Census Webinar Series
Kembali 24 Maret 2025 | Berita BAPETEN | 21 lihatThe Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Directorate of Inspection of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DIFRZR), is conducting an Ionizing Radiation Source (SRP) Census. The 2024 SRP Census began with a series of three-day webinars for information and registration, from March 24 to 26, 2025. An ionizing radiation source is anything that causes exposure to ionizing radiation through radiation emissions or the release of radioactive materials.
On the first day of the webinar, the kick-off was opened by the Director of DIFRZR, Zulkarnain, and attended by 160 SRP permit-holding facilities throughout Indonesia. In his remarks, Zulkarnain emphasized the urgency of the SRP Census, the first of its kind in BAPETEN's history. It serves as a means of obtaining accurate data on nuclear energy utilization, particularly the number of SRPs throughout Indonesia, for the purpose of better national oversight of nuclear energy utilization.
The webinar presentations discussed the socialization of SRP census preparation and 2025 SRP registration, delivered by Dr. Bambang Riyono and Wahyu Ramdan. Furthermore, there will be follow-up webinars on the technical procedures for the registration process.
This webinar series is expected to raise awareness among SRP users about the importance of reporting all SRPs held in their facilities in full, which will then be validated by BAPETEN's human resource evaluators, involving all BAPETEN inspectors. [DIFRZR/DwiCahyadi/BHKK/GP]
