BAPETEN Holds a Dissemination of Policy Recommendations and a Focus Group Discussion on Official Document Drafting
Kembali 17 Desember 2025 | Berita BAPETEN | 9 lihatBAPETEN, through the Centre for Regulatory Assesment of Nuclear Installation and Materials (P2STPIBN), organized a series of strategic activities on 16–17 December 2025 at the BAPETEN building in Jakarta. The activities included the Dissemination of the Policy Recommendation Report and a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Official Document Drafting, as part of efforts to strengthen policies and governance in nuclear regulatory oversight.
The first day of activities, held on Tuesday (16 December), namely the Dissemination of the Policy Recommendation Report, was opened and closed by the Head of P2STPIBN Taruniyati Handayani. The dissemination aimed to present the results of studies and strategic policy recommendations in the field of nuclear energy oversight, so that they could be clearly understood and optimally utilized by all work units within BAPETEN.
Various policy recommendation reports were presented, including assessments of nuclear installation safety culture; potential candidate areas for nuclear power plant (NPP) sites along with the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA); the safety of multi module NPP designs against external hazards; nuclear installation safety performance; the development and establishment of a Technical Support Organization (TSO); NPP design safety at the pre licensing stage; the readiness of human resources for NPP regulatory oversight; the supervision of nuclear waste and Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM); as well as the development of nuclear security detection systems for certification testing schemes. Through this dissemination, it is expected that a shared understanding across work units will be achieved regarding strategic issues in nuclear energy oversight, while also strengthening the foundation for BAPETEN’s policy formulation in ensuring safety, security, and the implementation of safeguards in Indonesia.
Furthermore, on Wednesday (17 December), P2STPIBN organized an FGD on Official Document Drafting, featuring Amran Purba from The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) as the resource person. The FGD was attended by secretaries, archivists, and representatives of work units within BAPETEN. The discussion addressed the importance of accuracy and precision in drafting official documents, including the application of standard Indonesian spelling, appropriate diction, effective sentence structure, and compliance with official document formatting and archival regulations. Participants also took part in discussion sessions and practical drafting exercises to enhance the quality of official administrative documentation.
Through this series of activities, BAPETEN reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the strengthening of nuclear regulatory policy substance while simultaneously enhancing human resource capacity and administrative governance within BAPETEN, as part of its continuous efforts to realize professional, effective, and accountable nuclear energy oversight.
