BAPETEN Coordination and Collaboration with DPMPTSP of Central Java Province and PT Angkasa Pura I Ahmad Yani Airport
Kembali 21 Mei 2024 | Berita BAPETENThe Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), through the Directorate of Licensing of Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR), conducted a working visit in the framework of coordination and collaboration with the Central Java Province Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Office (DPMPTSP) and PT Angkasa Pura I, General Ahmad Yani International Airport Semarang, on May 20-21, 2024.
On the first day, Monday, May 20, 2024, the BAPETEN team led by Ishak as Director of DPFRZR BAPETEN, with members Ida Bagus Manuaba as Acting Coordinator of the Research and Industrial Facilities Licensing Function Group, along with related staff, conducted a working visit to the DPMPTSP office of Central Java Province. This activity was carried out in the framework of coordination and collaboration to accelerate business licensing in regions and cities in Central Java Province.
The event began with a speech by Nency Widya Rahayu, Secretary of the DPMPTSP of Central Java Province, who expressed her appreciation to BAPETEN for visiting and was ready to coordinate further.
On this occasion, Ishak conveyed the importance of collaboration between BAPETEN and the DPMPTSP of Central Java Province. The collaboration related to licensing services, consultations, and workshops for DPMPTSP licensing officers of Central Java Province and DPMPTSP of Regency/City. This workshop aims to provide supplies and knowledge for DPMPTSP officers so that it is easier for the public to access and obtain information on nuclear power licensing in the fields of industry, health, and research.
Nency welcomed the DPMPTSP Licensing Officer Training Activity Plan, which is planned to be held on June 20, 2024. She also said that she would coordinate further regarding the preparation of the workshop.
The activity was continued with a presentation and presentation by Ida Bagus Manuaba regarding the BAPETEN profile and licensing for the use of ionizing radiation sources (SRP).
It is hoped that with this activity, BAPETEN and DPMPTSP of Central Java Province can always coordinate in the licensing service strategy for the use of SRP or the nuclear energy sector and collaborate in preparing an action plan for the implementation of the acceleration of business implementation in the nuclear energy sector in Central Java Province.
At the end of the closing session on the first day, Ishak expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Representative of DPMPTSP of Central Java Province and all his staff for the warm welcome in receiving the BAPETEN team's working visit. He also conveyed BAPETEN's commitment to improving licensing services for the benefit of the community in order to support the ease of doing business in Indonesia, especially in Central Java Province.
On the second day, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, the BAPETEN team conducted a working visit to PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I), General Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang. This activity aims to coordinate and collaborate regarding the handling of the transportation of radioactive materials (ZRA) carried out via air transportation at General Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang.
The BAPETEN team during this visit was received by the General Manager of AP I General Ahmad Yani International Airport Semarang, Fajar Purwawidada, and his staff. Fajar expressed his appreciation to the BAPETEN team who had visited in the context of coordinating the supervision of ZRA transportation and hoped that this meeting could increase the understanding of AP I officers about radiation safety and security in carrying out daily tasks in the field.
In his speech, Ishak said that through this working visit, BAPETEN wanted to know and ensure the readiness of General Ahmad Yani International Airport Semarang in handling ZRA transportation. Currently, BAPETEN has a strategic role in the ZRA transportation process through licensing by issuing a Shipping Approval document. Ishak also emphasized that the issue of safety and security in ZRA transportation should be understood comprehensively by implementing officers, including the provision of radiation measuring instruments (surveymeters) in the field, because the presence of ZRA can be detected using a surveymeter.
Ida Bagus Manuaba conveyed several things related to the implementation of safety and security aspects in ZRA transportation based on Government Regulation No. 58 of 2015 concerning radiation safety and security in the transportation of radioactive materials and BAPETEN Regulation Number 7 of 2020 concerning safety provisions and procedures for the transportation of radioactive materials.
In the discussion session, AP I officers conveyed information on several matters related to the handling procedures for the shipment of dangerous goods, including that until now not all airlines are willing to transport ZRA, so they proposed the need for assistance from BAPETEN to get attention from related parties. AP I officers also hope that socialization and briefings need to continue to be carried out to align the perceptions of officers regarding radiation safety and security.
At the end of the event, Ishak expressed his gratitude for receiving this working visit and hoped that this coordination would continue to support the duties and functions of BAPETEN and AP I in handling the transportation of ZRA. [DPFRZR/Dwi/BHKK/GP/Translator: GP]
