BAPETEN Conducts On Site Verification of the Dosimetry Laboratory at BPAFK Surakarta
Kembali 08 Maret 2026 | Berita BAPETEN | 15 lihatBAPETEN through the Directorate of Technical Support and Nuclear Emergency Preparedness (DKKN), conducted an on site verification at the Surakarta Center for Health Equipment and Facilities Security (BPAFK) from 5 to 8 March 2026. The activity aimed to evaluate documents and verify BPAFK Surakarta as part of its licensing application process as a Dosimetry Laboratory for the calibration of radiotherapy equipment output. The licensing application process is carried out through two systems, namely OSS and Balis.
The verification activity was led by the Head of the Quality Assurance Functional Group, Adi Drajat Noerwasana, with Suryo Adi Ari Santosa and Alimuddin serving as members. The activity continued with the witnessing of performance testing for the Co-60 teletherapy modality conducted by BPAFK Surakarta personnel at Dr. Moewardi Regional General Hospital in Surakarta, as well as brachytherapy and linear accelerator (linac) modalities at K.R.M.T. Wongsonegoro Regional Hospital in Semarang.
The Head of BPAFK Surakarta, Rohmadi, welcomed the implementation of the on site verification conducted by BAPETEN. He expressed his expectation for constructive feedback from BAPETEN to support the improvement and development of the dosimetry laboratory.
Following the evaluation and verification process, the document assessment results indicated several notes. Nevertheless, no significant findings were identified. Similar results were observed during the witnessing of performance testing, which showed that the personnel were sufficiently proficient in conducting radiotherapy output calibration testing across the three modalities.
After addressing the noted observations, it is expected that BPAFK Surakarta will be recommended for the issuance of a Standard Certificate for Dosimetry Laboratory Activities for Radiotherapy Output Calibration. Furthermore, it is also expected that the institution can soon serve as a technical service provider, contributing to radiotherapy output calibration services for radiotherapy facilities, which are currently undergoing significant expansion.
