The agenda began with an opening and remarks by the Director of DPIBN, Wiryono, who explained that this activity was carried out in order to form a network with academia and carry out the mandate of the people's representatives from Southeast Sulawesi in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) to conduct socialization of licensing supervision, including the potential for prospective nuclear power plant sites in the 3T (underdeveloped, outermost, and frontier) areas in Southeast Sulawesi.

The Dean of FMIPA, in his speech, said that FMIPA is very open to BAPETEN's visit to socialize the licensing of nuclear power plants and work networks. He also expressed his regret that the rector was unable to attend because of an international symposium on animal husbandry on his schedule. Given that there are various proposals to develop factories in Southeast Sulawesi that demand huge amounts of energy and are limited by the availability of electricity, it is anticipated that the trend towards the utilization of new energy in the future will offer an energy surplus in the region.

The event continued with a presentation and discussion of licensing of nuclear power plants and also the potential locations of prospective nuclear power plant sites in Southeast Sulawesi.

Based on the outcomes of this visit and discussion, Halu Oleo University is prepared to join BAPETEN as a partner. This includes serving as an expert or resource in assessing the site's electrical, mechanical, and social and environmental impacts (community unrest) as well as conducting community outreach on nuclear power supervision and utilization. It is also anticipated that in the future, there will be more community education on nuclear power supervision and use, which is intended to increase public acceptance of nuclear power plant supervision.
