The event began with remarks from the Director of Licensing for Radiation Facilities and Radioactive Materials (DPFRZR), Asep Saefulloh Hermawan. He provided an overview of nuclear energy applications across various sectors, including medicine, industry, and agriculture, and explained the regulatory oversight involved. "BAPETEN operates on three pillars: regulation, licensing, and inspection. These pillars form the foundation of our oversight of nuclear energy utilization, ensuring safety, security, and protection for the public and the environment," Asep explained.

Furthermore, Gulam Mohamad Sharon, a member of Commission XII of the DPR RI, delivered remarks and officially opened the event. "There are many negative perceptions regarding nuclear energy, such as its use in weaponry. In reality, nuclear energy is widely used for peaceful purposes, including in medicine, industry, agriculture, and as an energy source. We hope the government will encourage the use of nuclear energy to generate affordable, clean electricity to drive economic growth," Gulam stated.

Echoing this sentiment, the Vice Rector of Tanjungpura University, Sy. Hasyim Azizurrahman, emphasized the importance of understanding nuclear energy utilization, particularly for the student participants present. "It is crucial to understand nuclear energy management, to gain a proper and thorough understanding of its applications, and to develop the ability to respond appropriately to the existence of nuclear energy itself," Hasyim explained.

The event continued with a presentation by the Coordinator of the Public Communication Function Group, Abdul Qohhar, regarding the oversight of nuclear energy utilization in Indonesia. His presentation covered a general understanding of nuclear energy, BAPETEN’s role in supervising its use, and the associated benefits and risks. Furthermore, Abdul Qohhar encouraged public participation in collaborative oversight alongside BAPETEN.

The event concluded with a discussion and Q&A session between the speaker and the attendees. Participants showed great enthusiasm, raising numerous questions about nuclear energy utilization and engaging in discussions regarding security, safety, and risk mitigation.
