Assessment Aptitude Test Virtual for Bapeten Young Inspector

In order to obtain a competent and professional BAPETEN inspector to support the implementation of the inspection task which is one of the pillars from supervision of nuclear energy utilization, on Monday, 9 August 2021 BAPETEN held an Assessment Aptitude Test for Prospective Inspectors of Nuclear Safety at the 2nd phase of BAPETEN.

Aptitude test stage 2 (two) is a continuation of the aptitude test stage 1 (one) which has been carried out on 5 August 2021 followed by 51 participants of prospective young inspectors from the field of Radiation facilities and Radioactive Sources and Installations and Nuclear Materials. and opened by Deputy Chairman for Licensing and Inspection Zainal Arifin.

In accordance with Bapeten’s Regulation no. 1 of 2017 on the implementation of inspections in the supervision of nuclear energy utilization, before the education and technical training of young prospective inspectors, aptitude tests will be carried out first to filter aspects from the competence of prospective inspectors.

Aptitude test on 5 August 2021 includes self-assessment, Psychological Test and preparation of presentation materials by participants. While in aptitude test today 9 August 2021 includes Case Presentation Simulation, Leaderless Group Discussion (LGD) and Interview.

At the case simulation event, participants were given cases related to "Healthy Indonesia in Remote Areas", each group was asked to discuss the issue and provide the best solution that would then be presented by each group.

Completed the presentation of the case and LGD conducted an interview to each participant by the assessor with the aim to further explore the competence of the inspectors.

The purpose of the aptitude test of prospective young inspectors is to measure the cognitive ability of prospective young inspectors as a prediction of their success rate to be able to perform inspection tasks. In addition to knowing the aspects from competence of prospective young inspectors in interpersonal skills, leadership, self-development, communication and teamwork.

The implementation from aptitude test of young inspectors was conducted by the Bureau of Psychodynamic Psychology involving 14 assessors and the entire process was held virtually at the current Covid-19 pandemic.

"Through this aptitude test we can get an overview of the potential that participants have to then be recommended to the relevant management at BAPETEN" said Fauzi one of the Psychodynamic assessors.

"Our hope is that the participants can follow this event well, relax and enjoy it and do not need to be tense. Hopefully the participants can become inspectors in accordance with Bapeten’s expected competence and can provide progress for BAPETEN," Fauzi added further. [BHKK/Bams/OR/RA]
